Florence Kimono made with Lady McElroy fabric

Completed kimono jacket using Florence Kimono pattern by Sew Caroline and Lady McElroy Oriental Koi fabric. The fabric is polyester crepe and does fray when working with it.  I started to use french seams as stated in the pattern and then switched to my overlocker to finish the kimono. I made the hip-length version.  The pattern also provides for crop and knee length versions. Perfect for summer evenings or beach cover-up!

The pattern has clear instructions and easy to understand pattern pieces.  My choice of fabric made things slightly more difficult when constructing the seams of the garment as mentioned above.  The only tricky part is attaching the front edge inner binding which continues around the neckline and so some experience of working this around a curved edge is required.

Overall, I am really pleased with the result and love the detail on this fabric!
